With the holiday season upon us, there is definitely a wealth of poker merchandise out there to gift your favorite poker fan with. Whether they are a hardcore B&M player, an online whiz or a youngster that likes watching poker on television, they may be interested in a video game for one of the popular console out now. There have been three poker titles that have been delivered (the WSOP game and Howard Lederer's"World Championship Poker", which I'll be sure to be playing soon, are also out; Daniel Negreanu's "Stacked", unfortunately, will not hit the stores until February 2006) and, so far,"World Poker Tour 2006" has been one of the better games to come out for a video game console in quite some time.

One day I heard a friend reference the current state of televised poker as being in a "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" stage, I suggested that he was being a bit dramatic. Sure enough, two weeks later, FSN fulfills my friend's prophecy with its latest addition to its poker line-up and is promising dramatic poker television that might set the new standards for poker television programming. FSN is set to announce its newest addition to its poker line-up, Mansionpoker.net Pokerdome Series on Monday. The dome will be erected in Las Vegas and will house some of the biggest stakes in the history of the game.

Freeroll poker tournaments are one of the best ways to pump up your bankroll, and the people at Noble Poker have come up with an innovation that will offer the opportunity for someone to walk off with the largest tournament win in either online or live poker history. Noble Poker is offering a freeroll tournament in April that has online qualifiers running now. Over $500,000 in prizes will be awarded at the event but, once the tournament reaches the final table, play will be suspended until May. The combatants will then be flown to a secret location to play down to the champion and the potential of a $100 million payday.

Nothing I write about David Sklansky is going to be as accurate (except statistics) as I would like, because David talks above my head so often. It's not that he tries to confuse his audience, but most of us who came into this world with the standard brain packaging between our ears just can't be expected to completely grasp what he is truly saying. According to David, "At age 13, I believe I was better in math, science, puzzles, coming up with clever shortcuts, and logic, than perhaps half of those who went on to get physics prizes when they were 13 years old." Now I'm not sure how he knows this, but I'm not going to argue with someone that was doing calculus before he entered Teaneck High School (where he graduated in 1966).

The battle for European poker supremacy is set to take place next month at the Casino Star City in Birmingham and the team-nation representatives are ready to give their all for their home countries. 42 players from France, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales will battle it out for two consecutive days, playing today's hottest game, No Limit Texas Hold'em. With an event title like Poker Grand Slam, these players are bringing their "A-game," hoping to take down individual cashes and bragging rights for their country.
